Osteopathic Techniques

The founder of osteopathy, Dr. Andrew Taylor Still assumed that the body consists of three systems influencing each other: the musculoskeletal system, the inner organs and the craniosacral system. He considered that a harmonious physical functioning is only possible when neither of these systems is impaired.

Osteopathic techniques can be used to treat various functional disorders, regardless of whether the problems are acute or chronic. The osteopath seeks to activate the self-healing mechanisms of the body (auto-regulation) by a suitable treatment, exclusively based on manual techniques, according to a prior holistic osteopathic diagnosis.

Indications for an osteopathic treatment are, for example, knee, hip or back pain, spinal disc problems, migraine, shoulder and neck pain as well as scoliosis, among many other troubles.
