Classic Massages

The classic massage, manually and adequately performed, is one of the most ancient and varied therapy methods. Five different strokes are applied during the successive stages of a classic massage:

  • “Effleurage” – gentle strokes
  • “Petrissage”, more forceful kneading or wringing
  • “Friction” – circular movements to generate warmth by friction
  • “Tapotement” – rapid percussion with the edge of the hand and vibration
  • Generation of muscle spasms

A classic massage focused on the muscles and the outer tissue helps remove blockages caused by physical or psychological stress, soothes the muscles, stimulates the metabolism and the blood circulation, enhances the function of inner organs and releases tension. Furthermore, the massages help reduce the production of stress hormones and stimulate the release of endorphins. These natural substances favour the alleviation of pain and psychological relaxation. Generally, these therapies help clear one’s mind and boost the energy flow.

Classic massages are particularly recommended for:

  • Muscle tension and tightness (including headache due to muscular problems)
  • Diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system
  • Adhesions in the tissue
  • Blood circulation problems and metabolic disorders
  • Neuralgia
  • Stress symptoms (fatigue, tinnitus)
  • Psychological problems
